The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the armed robbery of two people after a bingo game at Cessna Activity Center.

The office on Wednesday gave this account: At 9:22 p.m. Jan. 29, deputies responded to a robbery at the Cessna Activity Center, in the 2700 block of South George Washington Boulevard. After a bingo game had been held earlier that night at the center and the patrons left, a 50-year-old man and 59-year-old woman who had been in charge of the game walked toward the front door to lock it from the inside when a suspect came in and ordered them to the floor and demanded money.

The robber took about $500 before leaving.

The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans. He had a blue bandana over his face and pointed a black handgun at the victims.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call sheriff’s investigators, 316-660-5300, or Crime Stoppers, 316-267-2111.
