Derby police are looking for a man who walked into a local pawn shop Friday, armed with a camouflaged shotgun.

The man entered Charlie’s Gun and Pawn, 1606 N. Nelson, around 5:45 p.m. in what’s being called a robbery attempt by police. He is described as black, between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall with a medium build and was wearing a camouflage coat and black mask.

After leaving the store, the man reportedly fled in a white four-door ’80s-style Toyota Corolla or similar car, Derby police said. The vehicle had no back passenger side window, police said, and may have a Kansas veteran’s license plate.

No loss was listed.
