Police say robbers stabbed a man multiple times as they stole a big-screen TV from his home in the 200 block of North Topeka on Friday evening.

The robbers, two men of unknown age, took the 50-inch television from the 46-year-old man and attacked him with a knife about 7:30 p.m., Wichita police Sgt. Ron Hunt said. The wounded man was taken by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis with several cuts to his head, neck, arms and left abdominal area, Hunt said.

Hunt said the victim knew at least one of his attackers by his first name but "was unable to be interviewed due to his medical status and alcohol intake." The address where the attack occurred is near First and Broadway.

Police did not have an update on the injured man’s condition Saturday afternoon. The robbers have not been caught.
