A man with “very blue eyes” robbed a Subway restaurant in south Wichita on Wednesday night.

The robbery occurred shortly before 10 p.m. at the store in the 600 block of East 47th Street South, near Broadway, Capt. Brent Allred said.

A 19-year-old clerk told police the man came into the store and went into the bathroom, waiting until the other customers left, Allred said. He then approached the clerk, demanding money and indicating he had a weapon.

She complied with his request. He then left the area on foot, Allred said. She told police the robber was a white man about 30 years old who was wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans, a blue jacket with red sleeves and a red Kansas City Chiefs cap.

He also had “very blue eyes,” the clerk told police.

The robber may have been dropped off at the store by a white van that has damage to its front, Allred said.
