UMB sees more profit in 2013

The holding company of UMB Bank said it ended 2013 with higher profit and deposits.

UMB Financial Corp. said in a news release that its net income in the fourth quarter was $34.7 million, compared with $21.1 million in the same quarter a year ago.

For the year, the Kansas City, Mo.-based company said net income was $134 million, a 9.2 percent gain from 2012 earnings of $122.7 million.

UMB Financial said deposits at the end of 2013 were $13.6 billion, compared with $11.7 billion at the end of 2012.
