Kansas State names dean of engineering

Darren Dawson, an electrical engineer from Clemson University, will become dean of the College of Engineering at Kansas State University beginning July 1, the university said in a prepared statement on Monday.

Dawson has done engineering research involving motion and motor control, robotics and mechanical system control. As an administrator, he’s grown enrollment in Ph.D. and undergraduate programs, the university statement said.

The university chose him after a national search, the statement said.
