Black misses game with ankle injury
Kansas senior forward Tarik Black missed Saturdays victory over TCU while still recovering from a sprained ankle suffered last Monday in a win against Baylor. KU coach Bill Self said he was hopeful Black would be back for Wednesdays game against Iowa State at Allen Fieldhouse, but it appears Black could be limited if the injury doesnt make substantial improvement over the next two to three days.
He was going to try (to play) and then he got it bumped today in shoot-around, and it was just too sore, Self said. Hes probably still a few days away. It hasnt responded to treatment like wed hoped, but hopefully hell be ready to go by Wednesday.
Black's absence provided an opportunity for redshirt freshman forward Landen Lucas, who finished with seven points and five rebounds off the bench.
I thought our bench was pretty good, Self said.
Perry cleans up
Sophomore forward Perry Ellis had a team-high 14 rebounds in 27 minutes. I thought Perry was the best hes been on the glass in a while, Self said.
