Friday won’t be as frigid as Thursday was in the Wichita area, forecasters say, but early wind chills will still be well below 0.

South winds will help boost temperatures into the upper 40s under sunny skies, but those winds will intensify as the day stretches out. Steady winds will reach the mid-20s by afternoon, gusting to more than 35 miles an hour.

Lows tonight will not drop below the 30s, forecasters say, and highs over the weekend will soar into the mid-50s under sunny skies.
