The Walmart Foundation will award a total of $608,988 in grants to 13 Kansas nonprofit organizations, including several Wichita-based nonprofits. The local donations include the following: $32,179 to American Red Cross Wichita; $42,000 to Dress for Success; $55,000 to Interfaith Ministries Wichita; and $28,821 to Union Rescue Mission of Wichita.

Recognized

The Kansas Grape Growers and Winemakers Association gave Wheat State Wine Co. in Winfield the following awards for its wines: Best in Class for its Dandy Horse, a dry white wine; Gold Medals for Trespass, a dry red wine; and Plowboy, a sweet red wine; and Silver awards for Flatpick, a semi-sweet white; and American Giant, a sweet white wine.
