Accounting

Drew Rooks has been promoted to tax specialist for the certified public accounting firm of Kirkpatrick, Sprecker & Company.

Marci Mashino has joined the Michael C. Porter CPA firm of Valley Center as a staff accountant.

David Friedberg has rejoined Allen, Gibbs & Houlik as a supervisor. He previously worked in the firm’s assurance group before joining a technology company as a consultant. Matthew Slagle, a student at Wichita State University, has joined AGH as an intern.

Architecture

Rory Randolph has joined GLMV Architecture, Inc. as an intern architect.

Banking

Chris Gilbert, chief information officer at Bankers’ Bank of Kansas, has been selected to participate in the Kansas Bankers Association’s 2014 Bank Leaders of Kansas program.

Energy

Michel’ Cole will join the Westar Energy executive team Feb. 17 as vice president corporate communications and public affairs.

Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation has appointed Adam Heflin as its new chief executive officer and chief nuclear officer. Heflin will be responsible for leading improvements in the efficiency and reliability of operations at Wolf Creek.

Financial

Jennifer Kurth has joined Hays Companies of Kansas’ Wichita office as a benefit analyst. Lindsay Smith has joined the company as a benefit consultant.

The IMA Financial Group, Inc. has announced that Kyle Orndorff has been named senior vice president of human resources. Based in IMA’s Wichita office, Orndorff will oversee human resources functions in Kansas, Colorado and Texas.

Health Care

Galichia Heart Hospital has named Troy Biggs to serve as its new vice president-controller. A licensed CPA, Biggs has served as chief financial officer for Hunter Health Clinic and Grene Vision Group.

Physician Denise R. Huskey has joined Via Christi Clinic. Huskey received her medical degree from University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and completed her family medicine residency at Via Christi Family Medicine Residency Program. Huskey sees patients at Via Christi Clinic, 9211 E. 21st.

Law

Daniel E. Lawrence, formerly an associate, has become a member of Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, effective Jan. 1.

Kim R. Martens, a partner with the law firm of Hite, Fanning & Honeyman, has been selected as a 2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Labor and Employment Law and Personal Injury Defense Law by American Media and Martindale-Hubbell.

Don D. Gribble II, a partner with the law firm of Hite, Fanning & Honeyman, has been inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Marketing

The Derby Recreation Commission has announced that Jennifer Tribue has joined the organization as director of marketing.

Greteman Group has promoted Rachel Groene to brand director, from brand manager. The company has promoted Landon Barton to art director, from graphic designer.

Organizations

Mike Dandurand has been elected vice chairman of the Kansas Independent Pharmacy Service Corporation, an organization that represents the interests of independently owned pharmacies. Dandurand is owner of Dandurand Drug in Wichita.

Medical Service Bureau, Inc., a nonprofit that assists low-income, uninsured individuals obtain prescription medication and vision care, has selected 2014 officers and board members. The officers are Mary Patton, president; Debra Calloway, vice president; Kent Koehler, treasurer; and Kristine Pfeifer, secretary. Board members are Camille Childers, Tai Elder, Chad Pettera, Judy Pierce, James Williams, Reuben Eckels, Jon Rosell, Robert Stangl and Diane Steere.

Services

Jill Skaggs, co-owner of Paul Davis Emergency Services in Wichita, has received board certification as a Council-Certified Microbial Remediator from the American Council for Accredited Certification.
