Wilbur-Ellis buys Sedgwick’s Accu-Rate

Wilbur-Ellis Co., an international marketer and distributor of animal feed and specialty chemicals and ingredients used in agriculture, bought the assets of Accu-Rate Services, an agriculture retailer in Sedgwick.

The city of Sedgwick has approved Wilbur-Ellis’ purchase of more than six acres in a new industrial park near Accu-Rate Services’ to expand services to growers in south-central Kansas.

The Accu-Rate staff will work for Wilbur-Ellis after the sale, and the company expects to expand the staff in the near future.

Founded in 1921, Wilbur-Ellis has sales of over $3 billion. Its Agribusiness Division generates more than $2 billion in sales and has approximately 170 branch locations throughout the United States.
