A quick-thinking employee thwarted a robbery at a northeast Wichita business Saturday night, authorities said.

The Dollar General employee spotted an armed man approaching the store at 2020 E. 21st St. at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday and locked the doors before he could get in, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. That’s just east of I-135.

The suspect then left.
