Thunder tops Missouri for third straight win

Matt Summers scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of overtime, giving the Thunder a 4-3 win over the Mavericks on Saturday night in Independence, Mo.

The Thunder has won three in a row.

Missouri led 1-0 entering the third period. Ian Lowe the score with a shorthanded goal at 6:18 of the third, RG Flath gave Wichita the lead with a score at 10:56. After the Mavericks pulled even, Mike Wilson scored at 13:54 to again give the Thunder a lead. Missouri forced overtime with a 6-on-4 goal with 1:10 left in the third period.

The win was the Thunder’s first in overtime this season after three losses.

The teams meet again Sunday afternoon at Intrust Bank Arena.
