  • Published Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at 6:46 a.m.

Two people were killed overnight in Kansas City, Kan. Police believe the cases were unrelated.

One man, 19, was found dead of a gunshot wound in a vehicle in the 2600 block of Orville Avenue about 9 p.m. Friday. Police had been called to a report of several shots being fired in the 2500 block of Minnesota Avenue.

The second report was of a shooting in the 1900 block of North Fifth Street about 1:15 a.m. Saturday. The victim, described as a black man in his 40s, was found in a vehicle and pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police said early Saturday they did not think the two murders were related.|
