A judge on Thursday ordered a 53-year-old Wilson County woman to repay nearly $51,000 she defrauded from the Kansas Medicaid program.

Teresa McConnell pleaded no contest to 15 Medicaid fraud charges, leading to the restitution, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt’s office said, announcing judge’s decision. She will also serve 60 days house arrest.

McConnell stood accused of filing fraudulent time sheets, claiming home health care services. But during those times, Schmidt said, McConnell was either hospitalized or her care providers were incarcerated.
