Equity Bank said it will break ground on its Waterfront branch in northeast Wichita next week.

The $1.2 billion-asset bank, which first announced plans for the branch near the northwest corner of 13th and Webb in June, said in a news release that work will begin on the 7,200-square-foot building on Wednesday.

The branch will sit on a more than one-acre site and is expected to open later this year. It will replace Equity’s existing branch at Central and Webb.
