Nominations are being accepted for an award that recognizes the top senior citizen volunteers in the country.

The Salute to Senior Service program, sponsored by Home Instead Inc., recognizes the contributions of adults age 65 and older who give at least 15 hours a month of volunteer service to their favorite causes.

Entries will be taken through March 1. State winners will be selected by popular vote at SalutetoSeniorService.com, and a panel of senior-care experts will pick the national honoree from the 50 state winners.

State winners will receive $500 to donate to a nonprofit organization of their choice. The national winner will receive $5,000 to donate.

To nominate someone, go to www.SalutetoSeniorService.com and submit the nomination online, or download the form and mail it to Salute to Senior Service, P.O. Box 285, Bellevue, NE, 68005.
