Half of the members of the U.S. Congress are millionaires. I wonder how many were millionaires before they entered Congress.

Thank you to the media for taking Chris Christie out of the 2016 presidential race. Now maybe we can run a real conservative instead of a RINO.

If the liberal press would spend as much time, energy and resources investigating the Benghazi killings as they have the closure of three lanes of traffic on a turnpike in New Jersey, we would know the truth. Oh, I forgot, Hillary Clinton said it didn’t make a difference.

Anyone who thinks the “war on poverty” is still going on is incredibly misguided. It gasped its last breath when President Clinton and the Republicans “ended welfare as we know it” in 1996.

So Via Christi, thought to be a nonprofit charitable health care institution, has been all business in operating a captive offshore insurance company in the Cayman Islands to avoid costs and regulations in Kansas. I will remember this when I get what seems an unreasonable, inflated medical bill from Via Christi.

All beneficiaries of Gov. Sam Brownback’s tax cut for the rich should have to justify their windfall by listing on their next tax return exactly how many jobs they have created as a result. It’s a sure bet most are just enhancing their personal fortunes.

Have you ever heard the lyrics for “Johnny One Note”? It sounds like the Kansas secretary of state has nothing to do except ferret out phantom voters. Is it time to obviate the elected position?

As election commissioner, Bill Gale closed more than half the polling places in Sedgwick County. Let’s hope he brings a greater concern for all people to the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

Why change the airport name? So visitors do not think we failed seventh-grade geography. That alone is worth the money.

When I gamble, I really like the Kansas Star Casino. When I see that big sign on my way back from Oklahoma, I know I’m only 20 minutes from home.

I’m sick of engineers telling me how brilliant they are.

Get rid of all the awful, unfunny new comics. They are not worth the ink to print. Bring back all the old comics.

I agree that the new comics are very poor. I really miss “Mother Goose & Grimm” and “Get Fuzzy.” Please make room for them.
