The Anderson, Mo., police on Friday issued an Amber Alert for a 6-month-old boy believed to have been abducted on Jan. 2.
Authorities say the child, Mitchell Farris, had been placed with his great-grandfather by state child welfare officials. On Jan. 2 the child was taken by his father, Preston Wayne Farris, described as a 34-year-old white man, 5-feet-10-inches and 230 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be traveling with the child’s mother, Anastasia Lynn McDaniel, described as a 30-year-old white woman, 5-feet-8-inches and 172 pounds with blue eyes. They may be traveling in a red 2004 Ford Freestar with Missouri plates UH7D2R. The vehicle’s back window has a decal of a stick figure family.
Anderson is in extreme southwestern Missouri. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Anderson police at 417-845-2681.
