Special Olympics Kansas will host its annual Polar Plunge & Strut fundraiser on Feb 1.

By collecting at least $75 in donations, participants can plunge into the icy water at O.J. Watson Park and receive a sweatshirt. The “plungers” are encouraged to dress up for the costume contest that will take place immediately before the plunge.

For those who want to avoid the water, a one-mile walk/run and silent auction will be held before the plunge. Registration for the walk/run is a minimum $20 in donations and participants will receive a knit cap.

Additional prizes will be given to individuals who raise $250, $500, or $1,000 in donations.

The fundraiser will begin at 10:45 a.m. and conclude at 12:45 p.m. O.J. Watson Park is at 3022 S. McLean Blvd. in Wichita.
