A 21-year-old man was injured in an industrial accident Friday night in north Wichita, police said.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. at Pratt Industries, 700 E. 37th Street North, Sgt. Jeff Davis said. The man’s shirt was caught in a rotating roller, which pulled his hand into the roller.

“His hand suffered a severe injury,” Davis said.

The victim was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis for treatment. Pratt Industries is a paper and packaging company.
