Prosecutors this week charged a 21-year-old Wichita man with raping a 13-year-old in December.

A criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Sedgwick County District Court accuses Christian C. Davis of having sex with the teen on or around Dec. 8. A Wichita police report identifies the teen’s rapist as an acquaintance.

Davis was booked into Sedgwick County Jail on Dec. 27. His bond was set at $100,000.

He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Jan. 14.

Rape of a child under age 14 is a Jessica’s Law crime, which can draw sentence of life in prison without parole for 25 years upon conviction.
