Kansas City, Kan., police arrested a bank robbery suspect Thursday morning after he attempted to flee on a city bus following the crime.

The robbery was reported about 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Security Bank branch at 10840 Parallel Parkway. The robber did not display a weapon but passed a note to a teller. He left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Witnesses saw the suspect running from the area and boarding a bus. A few minutes later, police officers boarded the bus and arrested a suspect who was carrying a “large amount of cash,” officers at the scene reported.
