Shots fired at police near 17th and Estelle early New Year’s Day

Shots were fired at police officers early Wednesday morning in the 1700 block of North Estelle, police said.

Officers were investigating a report of a disturbance about 2:30 a.m. when about five shots were fired toward them from near 16th and Estelle, Sgt. Chris McAuliffe said.

There were no injuries and no suspects have been found, he said.
