Allen edges Thunder

Allen scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period and went on to beat the Thunder 5-3 on Tuesday night in Allen, Texas.

Wichita took one-goal leads twice in the second period, but each time the Americans responded. Jonathan Lessard put Allen ahead 4-3 with a goal at 11:40 of the third period. Phil Fox provided the final margin with an empty-net goal in the final minute as the Thunder pressed for a tying goal.

Jason Wilson, RG Flath and Jared Walker scored the Thunder goals. Jon Booras had an assist on Wilson’s goal for his team-leading 37th point. David Brown made 40 saves.
