Kansas Spine Hospital is changing its name to Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital.

The change reflects the evolving mission of the hospital, CEO Thomas M. Schmitt said in a statement.

Hospital officials said in a news release that about 75 percent of the hospital’s surgeries are related to the spine, and about 25 percent are orthopedic, with developing specialization in urology.

The hospital also offers an outpatient pain management program.

Updated signage was installed Tuesday at the hospital, 3333 N. Webb Road.

In 2012, Kansas Spine completed a $2 million expansion that included two additional operating rooms.
