Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita will begin accepting applications Jan. 1 for its next round of grants, awarded to Kansas nonprofits serving kids.

Organizations with 501(c)3 and tax-exempt designations that assist children through education, the arts, health care, medical research or civic and social services are encouraged to apply.

Those located in most south-central, central and western Kansas counties are eligible. Programs that received funding in 2012 or have operated for less than a year will not be considered.

Applications are due by March 1. Awards typically range from $500 to $7,500.

To obtain an application, guidelines or a list of eligible counties, go to www.rmhcwichita.org/WhatWeDo/Grants/ or contact Susan Smythe at 316-269-4182 or ssmythe@rmhcwichita.org.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita has awarded more than $813,300 since starting the program in 1999. Grant money comes from fundraising efforts at area McDonald’s restaurants and matching grants given by Ronald McDonald House Charities corporate office.
