Art, jazz at Kansas Masonic Home
Kansas Masonic Home will host its last Final Friday event of the year from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will feature more than 26 local artists from the Kansas Academy of Oil Painters, as well as three national artists. At least 300 pieces of art will line the walls of the Kansas Masonic Home, 401 S. Seneca. The Friends University jazz band will perform, and in-house chefs will prepare appetizers and bubbly beverages. Admission is free. Call 316-269-7500 for more information.
Peruvian art at Artist Central
Artist Central, a gallery at 5014 E. Central, will show the work of three painters at a Final Friday reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Rafael Robles, who hails from Peru, will have art on display. Local painters Bob Bayer and Jo Zakas will have watercolor and acrylic works on display as well. Admission is free.
Piano pieces as art
Reimagined parts of a 1939 Wurlitzer piano have been fashioned into artwork in Robert Schmidt’s “Wurlitzer Works” exhibition at The Fiber Studio, 418 S. Commerce. The art will be on display at a Final Friday reception at the studio from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will be up until Jan. 31. Admission is free.
