Rather than running to the Chinese for financial help, why doesn’t City Hall consult one of the richest and most successful businessmen in the world, who resides right here in our own backyard? He has proved that he is willing to help this city financially and otherwise.


What the weatherman said: “Don’t go out if you don’t have to.” What a Kansan heard: “Good time to go grocery shopping.”


Only 130 wrecks in Wichita over the weekend? Given how people drive and the pathetic job the city did of clearing snow, I am shocked that it wasn’t far more.


Dear Sedgwick County and city of Goddard: Thank you for the terrifying drive home Sunday night. As someone who gets off at midnight, I don’t enjoy driving on pure ice, in the fog, simply because you did a terrible job plowing.


Poor Justin Kraemer – caught using a bad word once. I watched a movie the other night that used that word 30 times. And that was just the first five minutes.


Tolerance of minority lifestyles does not require that I surrender mine, and it sure doesn’t mean that I am required to affirmatively advance or champion something that is against my values.


The reason a “Duck Dynasty” star and others have come under attack for speaking openly about biblical truth is because too many Christians have been intimidated into silence by the cultural elite and homosexual activists. The left wants to keep it that way. Not gonna happen.


Speak your mind freely, but remember there likely will be consequences and not a free pass.


It’s interesting that the same people defending Phil Robertson’s freedom of speech go ballistic if you offer them the wrong seasonal wishes.


Saying “Holiday Greetings” and “Happy Holidays” used to be acceptable before political correctness came into play. But now people are substituting those phrases for “Merry Christmas,” thereby eventually getting rid of the religious meaning. I hope the children see it coming, because their parents don’t.


KU is playing arguably the best schedule in the country, and it does so every year. Bill Self has the opportunity to schedule just about any team he wants. It is not his job to help improve the WSU program.


If WSU played KU in basketball and WSU won, would that be considered a good win? Or would they say that WSU still doesn’t play anyone of value?
