Students ages 6 to 12 are invited to enter the Wichita Grand Opera’s first coloring book contest for a chance to win opera tickets, a backstage tour and more.

The coloring book, which was distributed to music and art teachers in the Wichita area, features scenes from the five productions of Wichita Grand Opera’s 2014 season: “Sleeping Beauty,” “William Tell,” “Tosca,” “Don Quixote” and “The Barber of Seville.” It also includes a coupon for children and their companions to buy tickets at a discounted price.

For a copy of the coloring book and contest entry form, call the Wichita Grand Opera administration office, 316-683-3444.

Children may color with pencils, crayons, markers, paints or any medium they choose. Entries will be separated into three age groups, and prizes awarded to the top three entries in each division. Among other prizes, winners will have the chance to appear onstage during the Wichita Grand Opera’s production of “Tosca” in April.

The entry deadline is Jan. 3.
