Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
This 32-year-old active-duty Navy officer said he did everything right, planned the right way for he and his wifes child to be born 14 months ago.
Life was good.
But after his wifes C-section, she had complications resulting in five surgeries in the past year, including a hysterectomy.
She has been unable to return to her job in health care, so the two have lived for the past 14 months on his military pay, which he said isnt much.
They have had to deal with repossessed vehicles and payments as well as all the typical newborn child expenses, he said.
So, when Share the Season was able to provide some assistance with his utility and car payments, it helped relieve at least some of the stress, he said.
Were running down a path weve never gone before, he said. Its been the worst year financially for us ever.
So far, Share the Season has raised $186,912.
