What do Gen. Custer, the Dreamlifter pilots and Justin Kraemer have in common? They all said the same thing.

So a guy drops the f-bomb after a long day at work. Tacky, sure, but why fire the guy? It was 10:30, way past the kids’ bedtimes. But it would appear we have plenty of self-righteous babies up at that hour.

Justin Kraemer was my favorite TV newsman. I will miss him.

So now Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” is suspended for saying exactly how he feels. If someone says something and it bothers you, who really has the problem? If you choose that lifestyle, then be proud of it. Don’t go crying about it if one has an issue with it.

The “Duck Dynasty” guys should walk out on A&E. A lot of networks that respect freedom of religion and of speech would pick them up in a heartbeat.

A favorite saying of conservatives is, “This is what the Founding Fathers had in mind.” Now enter our Gov. Sam Brownback, explaining what the pope was really trying to say (Dec. 18 WE Blog excerpts).

I’m not Catholic, but I love Pope Francis. For the first time in my life I feel that the Catholic Church has a true follower of Christ’s teachings at its helm.

As a Catholic, I would like to apologize for the Opinion Line comments of another “Catholic.” That “Catholic” and the Kochs should heed the words of Pope Francis if they want to truly understand social justice.

So you don’t want to play WSU? Man up, coach Bill Self. Saying that coaches schedule what’s in the best interest of their program is code for one word – cowardice.

Gregg Marshall should offer home-and-home games – Intrust Bank Arena and Sprint Center – on a four-year contract. My wish for March madness is that WSU and KU are in the same bracket.

In Lawrence they don’t even think about WSU. In Wichita they are obsessed with playing the Jayhawks. As long as WSU carries this extreme inferiority complex, it will never be an attractive opponent for the nation’s premier college basketball program.

Let it go, Shocker fans. We do not need to play KU or KSU. They have more to lose than we have to gain.

Thank you for bringing esteemed psychiatrist and brilliant commentator Charles Krauthammer to the Opinion pages.

There were so many lasers at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert that I think my vision got corrected.
