I spoke to a lady who is the assistant manager of a cafeteria. She has to get her car license plates this month, so she will not be able to afford Christmas gifts for her two teenagers. Merry Christmas, Kansas.

Why isn’t anyone putting up Christmas lights anymore? It’s so disappointing to drive through so many dark neighborhoods nowadays. Humbug.

Be very careful about what you ask Santa for this year. Remember, he expects you to pay for it.

To the conservatives who say it is a fact that Santa Claus is white: Show me his long-form birth certificate.

Good job, Obama – the commies have landed on the moon.

President Obama has performed exactly as predicted – no executive skills, no experience other than as a community organizer. And we expect that this guy can manage anything other than tickling the ears of the low-information masses? We are in trouble here.

Obama has governed by anecdote and not fact during his five years in office, and smart people are catching on.

Isn’t it wonderful how the Wichita City Council members have security for themselves that would make the TSA proud, while deciding that the rest of us are on our own?

Now that Gov. Sam Brownback’s tax-cuts-will-create-jobs experiment has gone nowhere, he’s all concerned with getting the kiddies all-day kindergarten. Well, he’s a day late and many dollars short, thanks to those very cuts.

The best future education plan our governor can come up with is a five-year phase-in of funding for all-day kindergarten? First-graders through high school seniors can forget affordable college opportunities. Are leaders trying to increase the numbers of poorly educated citizens, who then will vote them back into office?

It’s not curious that Rep. Mike Pompeo favors the reduction (repeal) of energy credits for renewable-energy sources and not the repeal of oil and natural gas tax breaks. Could it be that a politician will not bite the hand that funds him?

Kansas should legalize marijuana. Millions are spent trying to stop people from using it while millions could be made by allowing people to use it. Alcohol impairs people much more than marijuana does, and it is legal.
