Soulstice reunion at Larkspur

The five original members of Soulstice, a well-known jazz combo populated by a rotating cast of top Friends University music students, will reunite for a performance Sunday at Larkspur, 904 E. Douglas. The band members include Nathan Hittle on piano, Nathan Williams on trumpet, Jason Whitmore on saxophone, Sam Hake on drums and Caleb Drummond on bass. The music will last from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., and admission is free.

Christmas Eve Eve at Public

Public at the Brickyard, the bar and restaurant at 129 N. Rock Island, is putting on a Christmas Eve Eve (that’s two Eves) music showcase on Monday. Admission to the concert is $5 at the door. Among the musicians performing will be Jenny Wood, Jeremy Spring, Aaron Lee Martin, Arleigh Aldrich, Elliot Road and Jack Korbel. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. The kitchen will be closed on Monday. For more information, call 316-263-4044.

Paper Bird at Barleycorn’s

Paper Bird will appear along with Aaron Lee Martin at a show scheduled for 9 p.m. Saturday at John Barleycorn’s, 608 E. Douglas. Paper Bird is a seven-member band from Colorado that blends folk, roots and Americana music. Tickets to the show are $6 in advance at http://parson.ticketleap.com/paperbird/. They’re $8 at the door. Attendees must be 21 or older. For more information, call 316-613-3773.
