Alma-made applesauce headed to Target’s shelves

Alma-based Grandma Hoerner’s Foods will begin selling a new product in more than 250 Super Target stores nationwide in January and expanding to all Target stores in February, according to a news release.

The product, an on-the-go “Big Slice” 4.5-ounce pouch, contains slices of apples in flavored sauces.

The Big Slice pouches come in 16 flavors, including cinnamon french toast, orange ginger, apricot and caramel.

Grandma Hoerner’s has been in business for more than 27 years.

It focuses on producing organic products, according to its website. The company has 50 employees.
