An anonymous donor will match any money donated to the Salvation Army in Wichita through Dec. 31 up to $100,000, the organization announced this week.

Donations can be made to the red kettles at locations around the area or online at www.donatewichita.com. Donations also may be made by calling 316-263-2769 or by mailing a check to the Salvation Army at 350 N. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

Donations are running about $100,000 short of where they were at this time last year, said Glen Caddy, commander of the Salvation Army in Wichita.

The group’s goal for its annual Mission of Hope campaign is $1.8 million. It helped about 50,000 people in the Wichita area last year.
