The average weekly wage for all people working in Sedgwick County was $843 in the second quarter, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
That was an increase of 3.1 percent from the previous quarter, placing Sedgwick County 53rd among the nation’s 335 largest counties, in terms of the size of the wage increase. The second quarter included the months of April, May and June.
The growth in the average wage reflects both wage growth per person and more people working.
The average wage in some other Kansas counties: Johnson County, $950; Shawnee County, $784; Jackson County, Mo., $920; Oklahoma County, Okla., $875; Tulsa County, Okla., $862; Douglas County, Neb., $831.
