Can anyone fail to notice that many of The Eagle’s Share the Season stories have to do with financial hardship because of health care issues? Health care in this country is broken, and the Affordable Care Act is designed to effect change. Give it a chance to work.

Republicans were off in their 2010 predictions about Obamacare. It’s four to five times worse than they told us.

I wonder if Michelle Obama is any more proud to be an American yet.

In my world, exposing unconstitutional activities is heroic. On Monday a federal judge in Washington, D.C., confirmed Edward Snowden’s heroism.

If the NSA collection of phone data is illegal, then so are all the traffic and security cameras. We should rely on just the honesty of our fellow man – like that is ever going to happen.

Hey, NSA – you can listen to my phone calls and read my e-mails if it will prevent another Sept. 11. However, you will probably be bored. Those you need to monitor are the ones hollering the most about your data collection.

A federal judge ruled that part of Utah’s anti-polygamy law is unconstitutional. Really? I can’t find one woman to tolerate me. Is it easier to find five?

As a Catholic, I would like to apologize to the Koch brothers for the recent letter from Catholic “educators” protesting a Charles Koch Foundation gift to Catholic University of America. I too believe in smaller government. “Social justice” depends on a vibrant free-market economy.

People use “liberal media” in the same way they use “socialist” and “progressive.” They have no idea what it means, but it sounded good on Fox News so they repeat it.

Teens don’t need iPads in school. They need to learn how to write. Most handwriting of those younger than 25 is illegible because they only know how to type and text.

All I want for Christmas is my love back. And that she would trust me.

Every TV should come with a Dick Vitale mute button.

A person’s a person, no matter how small.

Whoever kept their horses in our parking lot over the weekend at Third and Waco needs to come back and pick up their mess. We are a place of business, not a stable.
