A man in his 20s was killed and two people injured Monday afternoon when two motorcycles collided with a truck on Pawnee just west of Webb, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said.

The accident was reported at about 4:45 p.m. A 13-year-old girl and a man in his 20s were taken to a hospital in serious condition.

“Witnesses observed two motorcycles traveling at what they described (as) a high rate of speed traveling westbound on Pawnee,” said police spokesman Capt. Hassan Ramzeh. “At some point, witnesses report seeing a debris field.”

Ramzeh said investigators still in the process of determining whether one or both of the motorcycles struck the 2-ton truck. Pawnee between Rock Road and Webb Road was closed to traffic for most of Monday night.

Two occupants inside the truck did not report any injuries, Ramzeh said.

No other details were available immediately.

Any witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the accident investigation section of the Wichita Police Department at 316-268-4131.
