The new interim director and general manager of Wichita State University’s KMUW radio is Mike Wood, a former executive director of WSU’s Media Resources Center, the university said in a written statement Thursday.

He starts Thursday, the WSU statement said.

WSU plans a national search for a permanent director, the statement said.

Wood replaces Mark McCain, who resigned Dec. 2. KMUW is the public radio station at Wichita State University.

According to the WSU statement, Wood was executive director of WSU’s Media Resources Center from 1990 until he retired in May 2013.
