A Northwest High School senior has been named winner of Wichita State University’s largest business scholarship.
Bailey Bryand will receive $11,000 a year for four years as the winner of the Clay Barton Scholarship in Business.
Bryand has a cumulative 4.0 grade point average at Northwest and is ranked No. 1 in his class. He also is president on the National Honor Society at Northwest.
He intends to study marketing at WSU.
The Barton scholarship was established in 1991 in honor of the son of the late Rent-A-Center chairman emeritus W. Frank Barton, for whom WSU’s business school is named. Clay Barton died of cancer when he was 20.
