Kansas cotton harvest finds higher yields, but fewer acres harvested

The cotton crop in Kansas is forecast at 37,000 bales, down 47 percent from last year according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The number of acres harvested was down 52 percent from 2012, while the yield of 683 pounds per acre is up 61 pounds from last year.
