Funeral services set for Wichita doctor Douglas Douthit

A Wichita doctor’s funeral service is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at NewSpring Church, 12200 E. 21st St.

Douglas Douthit, an obstetrician and gynecologist for Wichita OB-GYN Associates, died Thursday in a snorkeling accident while vacationing in Mexico, Krista Long, practice manager for the clinic, confirmed Tuesday. Dr. Douthit was 59.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; daughter, Halle Harper (Seth), of Wichita; and son, Sam Douthit, of Los Angeles; father, Duane Douthit, of Houston; grandchildren, Cale Harper, Lainie Harper; siblings, Gay and Urbin McKeever, of Fort Worth, Nancy and James McMath, of Burleson, Texas, Tom and Celia Douthit, of Houston, Laura and Joe Kohlmaier, of Houston; sister-in-law, Diane (Alan) Yock, of Wichita; many beloved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Justice For All, 113 N. Martinson, Wichita, KS 67203, or Choices Medical Clinic, 538 S. Bleckley Dr., Wichita, KS 67218.
