A man’s car, wallet and cellphone were stolen after he left an east Wichita movie theater parking lot late Sunday night, police said.

The 38-year-old victim told police he had gone to the Warren Theatre’s east location at about 11 p.m. to get paid for work he had done, police Capt. Brent Allred said. After he left the parking lot and was preparing to exit onto 13th, a man got into his vehicle from the passenger’s side. He pulled out a knife and ordered the driver to pull into the parking lot of Jose Pepper’s.

The victim complied, and the suspect stole his car, cellphone and wallet. The suspect was a black man dressed entirely in black, the victim told police.
