Police seek missing KU student from Peru

Lawrence police are asking the public for help in finding a missing University of Kansas student.

Police said that Gianfranco Villagomez-Saldana, a 23-year-old graduate student from Peru, was reported missing by friends Saturday night.

He was seen Saturday morning walking in the area of ninth and Michigan streets towards his home near 11th and Mississippi streets, according to police.

Villagomez-Saldana is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds and wears glasses. He was wearing a blue shirt with a KU Jayhawk logo, a long-sleeve gray shirt, black jacket, jeans and white tennis shoes.
