Warming up a car on a cold morning can have its drawbacks, especially if you leave the running car unattended.

A 35-year-old Wichita woman had that experience about 7 a.m. Thursday as a temperatures in the area turned frigid. The woman went outside to start her 2002 Buick, left it running with the keys in it and returned to her house in the 1600 block of South Water, according to a police report obtained on Friday.

When she returned, she found her car had been stolen, the report said.
