Opinion Line Extra (Dec. 5)

I witnessed a school bus driver stop two lanes of busy traffic to let off one child, then pull up 10 feet and turn onto a side street, where they could have let the child off and stopped no traffic. Is common sense a requirement for driving a bus?

Dear Mr. or Ms. Retailer: Because the federal, state and local governments, particularly through Obamacare, and the utility companies are taking more and more of my money, I will not be able to support your business by purchasing anything but necessities this Christmas or for the foreseeable future.

A lot of things have been flawed when they were first brought out – new car models, means of war, computers, phones, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, drugs, medicine, home building. I am sure the ACA can be refined and function as envisioned. Almost everything takes time.

Thanks to The Eagle for Charles Krauthammer’s “Authoritative lawlessness leaves lasting harm” (Nov. 30 Opinion). He clearly pointed out how far this nation has been dragged down the road to authoritarianism. It should be required reading for anyone who votes.

The White House says the Obamacare website is up and running. Only time will tell. They never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

If Bill Snyder is such a great football coach, then why hasn’t he won a national championship? Let’s name the KSU stadium the “Bill Snyder and Family, Friends and Cousins He Never Met Stadium.” Next they will want a statue of him bigger than the stadium.

I hate cellphones, but have come to accept them as a necessary evil. I always do whatever I can to not make by cellphone conversations public.

I saw women everywhere shopping in their PJs on Black Friday.

Not only should the so-called Black Friday be outlawed, so should holiday and Sunday sales.

Someone thinks people are prejudiced against adopting black dogs from the pound. It is the color of the dog, but it is because the dog hair shows on your furniture and carpet so badly.

People aren’t reluctant to adopt black pets because they’re racist. A big reason is because black animals are harder to get good pictures of, so they have an automatic disadvantage on the website.

I am white and have a black cat. If I go to the Humane Society to get another animal, it will pick me. Grow up and stop seeing gray.
