The Wichita State women’s volleyball team won the Missouri Valley Conference tournament Saturday afternoon, defeating Southern Illinois in a three-set sweep (25-20, 25-17, 25-18) at Koch Arena.

For a program that just extended its NCAA Tournament streak to seven consecutive seasons, it is surprisingly just the second tournament title in the program’s history.

Wichita State did not trail after the 16th point the entire match, as it revenged a five-set regular-season loss on Nov. 2 with thoroughness. Ashley Andrade, who was named the tournament’s MVP, led the Shockers with eight kills in the match.

The Shockers (29-6) will learn of their matchup on Sunday evening, as the NCAA Tournament selection show will air on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m.
