It’s true that no one is forcing you to shop on Thanksgiving Day. However, being open forces employees to work, taking precious time away from families. This is wrong. I will not shop at stores open on Thanksgiving.

For some people without actual kin, getting out on holidays is how they enjoy the camaraderie of extended family. Sometimes it’s even at a neighborhood watering hole. That is their family.

When checking out at a store, please give your attention to the cashier and not your cellphone. It’s very difficult to help someone who thinks their cellphone conversation is more important.

All of the serious gamblers I know in Wichita drive right on by the Kansas Star Casino to Oklahoma, where they can expect a reasonable payout. Loosen up, Kansas Star.

Why should we believe that Iran will honor its commitments when North Korea did not? To the people of Israel: I send my most sincere apologies for what this administration has done. You must not expect any support from the U.S. government for the remainder of Obama’s term.

Stock market at all-time high, corporate earnings growing, more jobs for Americans since the 2008 economic collapse, economists predicting further gains on all fronts, more international negotiating instead of more American soldiers dying overseas – this must be heartbreaking news to Republicans. What have they contributed, apart from ideological criticism?

Obamacare is a lot like driving an old car. Sooner or later you have to decide if it’s worthwhile to keep fixing it, or whether to just go ahead and scrap it.

We entered and won World War II in just over 3 1/2 years, yet the Obama administration can’t develop a functioning website in that time.

Democrats would be delighted if the one-trick pony known as opposition to Obamacare remained the prime focus of Republicans for the upcoming midterm elections. By then, millions of Americans helped by Obamacare will be appalled, but not surprised, that beating a dead horse is all the Republicans have accomplished.

I just saw the monstrosity at WaterWalk that our city government calls art. I could not have commented on it any better than our fine-feathered friends have.

Singing the national anthem at all games is a must. But it would be much better for all to sing. Some of the students at WSU have never sung that song. It would be good for their education.
