Authorities have released the name of the inmate who died Monday in the Sedgwick County Jail.

Joel Craig Hilton, 44, was pronounced dead of apparent natural causes at 12:48 p.m. Monday after being found unresponsive in his cell at about 12:30 p.m., Sedgwick County sheriff’s Lt. Dave Mattingly said in a prepared statement.

An autopsy is planned, though there is no indication of foul play. Hilton was jailed on suspicion of misdemeanor charges and had been receiving treatment for various medical conditions while in custody, Mattingly said.

Hilton is the fourth person to die of natural causes at the jail this year.
